Because of the renovation work, I stopped my residential broadband network. After I moved back to Kennedy Town at late October, I was looking for new broadband network. I found that HKBN was promoting with $128 for 100MB, $150 for 500MB and $168 for 1000MB broadband speed to new customers. Of course all kinds of promotion price are unlimited usage.
I chose the 1000MB residential broadband network. Although 100MB was definitely enough for daily usage, I chose the 1000MB one because I was willing to spend extra 40 dollars to enjoy the 1000MB network. And also my account at HKBN was cut over 120 days, I could enjoy this new join program.
I had to reinstall my Windows 8 to my computer; also I had to install all windows updates to it. Initially I couldn't find the different between 100MB and 1000MB broadband speed. But when I upgraded it from Win 8.0 to Win 8.1, I found it, it was only needed 10 minutes to download 3.4GB windows 8.1 data from windows update site, which was definitely quicker than by 100MB speed network that needed around 1 hour to download completely from web site.
When I checked the speed when I was using 100MB network last year by HKIX, the result was 9X.XMB per second. But when I checked the speed by using 1000MB speed network, it was found that the speed was over 700MB per second. I was appreciated to enjoy the new network speed by spending extra 40 dollars.
