I ve read the book "Common English Errors" by Tomorrow Press and "English Chinese Dictionary of common error" by Longman during this month. I ve read these 2 books completely. But I scar every time when I am reading them. Because most of the errors are easily to confuse or forget. If there is an examination before I read those books, I definitely say I am going to devil. Such as an example "I don t like football match and my friend don t like football match too". Too is incorrect because of negative sentence. The correct statement should be "I don t like football match and my friend don t like football match either". If there is a multiple choice question, I might be correct. However my first response is too but not either.
I know I couldn t remember all the examples in those 2 books. I have learnt some difficult patterns and recall some memories that I learnt from secondary school. Such as "Never shall I forget the day I went shopping with her" "I have never seen so pretty a girl "and "Only in this way can I improve my English.
I remembered I had bought the book "Common English Errors" by Tomorrow Press when I was in secondary school. It was a free gift if we ordered the South China Morning Post. I remembered I read the book before but I didn t know why I lost the book afterthen. Anyway, I get it again, I have to remember the patterns carefully and completely.
Also I ve bought the book "The practical English grammer" and "A comprehensive English grammer" (1 & 2). Both 2 sets of books are written by 張道真. I read the first one when I have time in my work and read the secondth before I sleep.
Hope I will have English improved after reading these 2 sets of grammer books.
But anyway, I have a conclusion after I have read the book "Common English Errors" by Tomorrow Press and "English Chinese Dictionary of common error" by Longman. Ensure all grammers and all words in a sentence are correct. Maybe my structures or patterns can upgrade 1 to 2 grades, but grammer mistakes can be definitely deducted 2 to 3 grades. No difficult structures or patterns with mistakes might be better than difficult patterns or structures with grammer mistakes.
I know I scar again when I read these 2 English Errors books.
It is the time 1:40. I have to sleep because I have to wake up before 11:00 in the morning.
