I bought a 120G SATA2 SSD solid drive last Sunday costed me $469. Also I bought a new SATA data cable but I didn't buy a power cable. Therefore I setup the SSD drive solely.
After I reinstalled WIN 7, Norton internet securty, updated all WIN 64 bit updates, Comodo Dragon and some utilities, I restarted my PC. Great! 20 seconds!!!
It takes more than 1 minites to load windows 7 if using my old 7200rpm 500G harddisk, but now only needs 20 seconds.
I shuted down my PC again. And check the time consumed from the step started pressing the power button. 30 seconds.
The SSD drive is not the most update SATA3, it is a SATA2 configuration. Because it costs over $800 if purchaing a 120G SATA3 SSD solid drive.
But anyway, I am very satisfied with my new SSD.
Around 3 days later, I received another SATA power cable that I bought from the internet. I setup both my SSD and my old harddisk. Both of them were SATA 2 configurations. Totally they need 2 SATA cable and 2 power supply.
I didn't know it needed to setup the boot up sequence because both of them can boot Windows 7. My computer automatically set the hard disk to boot and destroyed my boot sector of my new SSD solid drive.
Big trouble !!!!
I had to refix the partion and reinstall the Windows 7 and all its applications again on my SSD drive and set the bios boot sequence in order to make my SSD solid drive the first primary boot.
