前一陣子我的IPOD壞了，本來存在裡面的歌也因此泡湯了…裡面有不少歌是我花了很多心血找的，而電腦又好死不死的中標，所以也沒留存檔。所以我只好憑著記再重新尋回我之前辛苦收藏的音樂，想好好的重整。邊聽邊整理的過程，其中一首Ugly Kid Joe所翻唱的一首歌，又勾起我的回憶。每次聽到這首歌，我總有很深的感觸。什麼是經典，什麼是噲炙人口，我想除了音樂本身的曲調外，能不能打動人心的歌詞也是很重要的。
我想這首Cats in the cradle（搖籃裡的貓）每個人聽到都有不同的想法和感觸吧。不管今天愛的對像是誰，總之，愛要即時。
這首歌的原唱者叫Harry Chapin，他在38歲的時候車禍英年早逝，寫這首歌的構想來自於Harry Chap的妻子Sandy，Harry Chap當初對這首歌沒有特別感受，直到他的孩子出世，他才深深體會到這首歌的真諦
幾經修改，這首歌成為Harry Chap最膾炙人口的代表作，之後也有不少人翻唱，我最初聽到這首歌是由
Ugly Kid Joe所唱的，MTV拍的很好，主唱也很帥…（不小心又露出本性了…）另外Johnny Cash也曾唱過。
